Our Story

Helping Hands was founded in November 2012 by a group of friends from Santa Ana, CA with a goal to give back to their community and to remember where they came from.  Our group grew up in Santa Ana and went to Saddleback High School.  Each one of us has a memory of a mentor, coach, friend, or relative that either gave us advice, direction, coaching, or a helping hand.  So we strive to pay it back and pay it forward.  We never forget where we came from and now strive to enrich other’s futures.

We fundraise throughout the year in preparation for our Easter BBQ, Back to School Tennis Shoes Project, Thanksgiving Food Drive, and Christmas Toy Drive.  We work to assist "at-risk youth" that attend the after-school program at the Santa Ana Police Athletic & Activity League and their families. We try to reach as many families as possible, with food and toy drives, Easter BBQ's, and Back to School Projects, to try and offset the financial burden, especially in this high risk and low-income area of Santa Ana.

Since our start in 2012, we have worked with the Santa Ana Police Athletic and Activities League to try to help kids participate in as many activities that they normally could not due to financial hardships.

We try to make a difference and hope to increase our outreach in 2019, and well into the future.  We have set our goals and with your help, we will work to surpass them.

Our Mission

At HELPING HANDS SANTA ANA, our mission is to always give back to the city where we came from. We aim to assist those in need, to lend a helping hand, try to make a difference in their lives, and to help get them through their time of need.  We always want to remember where we came from and do things in memory of those that helped us along the way in our own lives.

Our Vision

Helping Hands Santa Ana believes in helping families in need and supporting community programs in our surrounding areas and collaborating with local county agencies.

Our Motto

“Giving Back to the Communities that WE Came From” (Never forget your past, and you will grow in the future)
